Professor David Delpy is Hamamatsu Professor of Medical Photonics and Head of the Department of Medical Physics and Bioengineering at University College London. He is distinguished for his introduction of new methods for the in-vivo measurement of tissue oxygenation and metabolism. His work has enabled non-invasive quantitation of a range of physiologically and clinically important variables, including cerebral blood flow and volume in sick newborn infants.
