Adam Mead is Professor of Haematology at the University of Oxford. He is one of the UK’s leading clinician scientists in the field of haematology with an international reputation for his work in understanding the pathology and improving the management of patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), essential thrombocythaemia, myelofibrosis and chronic myeloid leukaemia. His group has led the way forward using the innovative analysis of single cells contributing to MPNs including the invention and application of entirely new ways to link key mutations to changes in gene expression and cell fate. As a result, his scientific group is acknowledged as providing many of the most recent fundamental insights into the initiation and progression of these disorders.
