One of the key benefits of our dedicated headquarters at 41 Portland Place is the facilities we can offer to our Fellows.
We designed the building with Fellows in mind and aim to provide you with a useful base in central London. While some of our usual facilities for Fellows are currently closed, we are re-opening for corporate events from Monday 17 May. Events will be held at a maximum of 50% of our usual capacity. This includes private dining, receptions, and more. Last summer our Grade II* listed townhouse and outdoor terrace were awarded the Visit Britain We’re Good To Go industry standard.

- The Jean Shanks Library is currently closed for drop-in visits. We have a comfortable Fellows Room in the Jean Shanks Library on the ground floor, which Fellows are ususually welcome to use from 8am–8pm, Monday–Friday. Complimentary hot drinks are usually available for Fellows and their guests, as well as meeting tables and workstations with free wi-fi. You can ususually use the Fellows Room for informal meetings, as a base between appointments, somewhere to catch up on work, or simply a place to meet and chat with other Fellows.
- The Academy's drop-in luggage storage, bicycle storage and changing facilities are currently closed. Usually if you are using the building as a rest stop there are secure lockers to leave luggage in the cloakroom and a private Fellows’ shower and changing room available in the basement – please speak to reception on arrival. Usually we also offer secure bicycle storage n one of the vaults at the front of the building.
