Charlie is a public engagement officer, working within the Engagement team, which sits within the wider Communications and Engagement team.

He works with all members of society to ensure that the work done by the Academy has all interests at heart and that their voices are fairly represented and not tokenistic. He is also interested in diversifying science engagement from traditional audience base and methods to ensure that it reaches people across the UK.

Prior to working at the Academy, Charlie graduated from Sheffield with an MSc in Science Communication, which he undertook after 3 years working for an open science journal, which was his first job after graduating from Leeds with a BSc in Biochemistry.

Out of the office he is a big fan of playing and watching sport, cooking and enjoying a drink with friends.
