Veronique Miron, MRC senior non-clinical fellow and Dementia Research Institute Group Leader at the University of Edinburgh, has made several critical discoveries transforming our understanding of what supports the health of myelin, the insulation surrounding nerve fibres in the central nervous system. She fosters knowledge exchange and collaboration by initiating cross-institutional working groups at the institute, university, and city-wide levels, such as Edinburgh ‘Microglia Club’, ‘Toronto MS’, and ‘MS Supergroup’ trainee networks. She has consistently engaged the public to ensure that her team’s research not only advances medical science but also reaches patients, communities, and the broader public.
