The people shaping the future of medical science

We bring together the people shaping the future of medical science, from world-leading researchers and clinicians to emerging leaders, partners, patients and the public.

Science achieves more when we combine the excellence, expertise and experiences of people who are driven to transform health. As the UK's national academy for medical sciences and a trusted, independent voice, we connect expertise from across research, healthcare, policy and industry to shape decisions, influence debate and accelerate progress in health.

Together, this community helps ensure that medical science delivers real-world impact, improving lives, strengthening public trust and delivering better health.

Fellows of the Academy of Medical Sciences

Fellows are at the heart of the Academy. They are among the UK's most accomplished researchers and clinicians, recognised for their outstanding contributions to medical science and the health of people and communities.

Fellowship recognises achievement, but it is also a platform for influence, contribution and connection. Fellows bring their expertise to some of the most important challenges facing health and research, helping to shape policy, strengthen public trust in science and research, support future leaders and drive innovation across the health system.

Through the Academy, Fellows can:

  • contribute expert insight to policy and decision-making
  • engage with the media and public to communicate evidence clearly
  • support and mentor the next generation of researchers
  • collaborate across disciplines and sectors to address complex health challenges.

Together, Fellows contribute to a trusted, independent voice for medical science and help improve health outcomes in the UK and beyond.
