Subrata Ghosh, Director of the Institute of Translational Medicine at the University of Birmingham, is internationally renowned in gastroenterology. He was the first to report osteopenia associated with inflammation in Crohn's disease and undertook seminal studies leading to therapies targeting leukocyte trafficking. Professor Ghosh continues to be involved in the development and testing of novel therapies for IBD and in better understanding of its pathogenesis and epidemiology.|Professor Ghosh sustained and high quality contributions to medical research have been recognised by Fellowship of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the prestigious International organisation for the study of inflammatory bowel disease.|
