Professor Sonia Gandhi FMedSci

Sonia Gandhi, Principal Investigator and Assistant Research Director at the Francis Crick Institute, is an exceptional clinician-scientist who has already made major contributions in translational neuroscience and neurodegeneration. Her discoveries have led to a large-scale global drug discovery program targeting the oligomer species as a potential disease modifying therapy for Parkinson’s disease, and the creation of novel machine learning and mathematical modelling methods to integrate cellular, clinical and structural brain changes in neurodegenerative diseases.

She exerts influence in shaping UK medical science and neuroscience as a member of the UKRI MRC Integrated Understanding of Human Disease Steering group, providing oversight of major UK initiatives.
