Richard Cornall is Professor of Immunology at Oxford. He has made a series of key contributions to immunogenetics and immune regulation, and has pioneered new methodologies underpinning these discoveries. He has been extensively involved in the development of research programmes in genetics, genomics and immunology and has developed models of immunological tolerance. He has been a pioneer of using ENU mutagenesis to discover new mechanisms of immune regulation. His findings have increased our understanding of pathways involved in B-cell development and selection, autoimmunity and how humans develop long-lasting immunity to infections. He is co-founder of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Physiology and a principal investigator of the MRC Human Immunology Unit.
