Professor Peter Ell is the Director of the Institute of Nuclear Medicine at University College London. He introduced the clinical use of single photon emission tomography in the United Kingdom, and was the first to made use of DEXA scanning in longitudinal bone mineral bone studies. He has a whole array of firsts in the use of novel radiopharmaceuticals in the diagnosis and assessment of disease of physiology.
