Peng Tee Khaw is Professor of Glaucoma and Wound-Healing at the Institute of Ophthalmology at Moorfields Eye Hospital, University College London. He has translated laboratory investigations of the cellular events underlying the scarring process into innovative advances in the treatment of patients with blinding eye diseases, including glaucoma. His work has led to large-scale national and international clinical trails in glaucoma surgery. His research on a new humanised recombinant anti-growth factor antibody that prevents scarring, and its successful application in humans in collaboration with Cambridge Antibody Technology, led to the 1999 Priz Galien Award for the most innovative drug.
