Paul Kellam is internationally recognised for his research and development work in virology as the Chief Scientific Officer at RQ Biotechnology Ltd and Professor of Virus Genomics at Imperial College London. His skills were fully utilised in the COVID-19 pandemic, where he was the scientific advisor to the vaccine taskforce. He is highly effective at convening diverse expertise, aligning molecular biology, computational science, and translational medicine to address pressing health challenges in infectious diseases. He has also engaged with the legal aspects of science, having been granted a number of patents and being an expert witness for patent disputes on antiretroviral drugs, a process leading to him giving expert testimony in both UK and European patent courts.
