Panagiotis Deloukas is Professor of Cardiovascular Genomics at Queen Mary’s University of London. He is a world leader in complex trait genetics focused upon elucidating the genetic basis of cardio-metabolic traits. He has made a major contribution to the Human Genome Project by creating the first physical gene map of the genome by radiation hybrid mapping, and coordinating the sequencing of two human chromosomes, 10 and 20. |To support training and capacity building in the NHS around the 100,000 Genomes Project, Professor Deloukas created the national template for a Masters of Genomic Medicine for Health Education England. This is now used by 10 Higher Education Institutes.
