Professor Oscar Marin FRS FMedSci

Oscar Marín is Director of the MRC Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders at King’s College London. He discovered fundamental rules governing the specification, migration and wiring of neurons in the cerebral cortex, with special reference to inhibitory neurons. These discoveries have transformed our understanding of the mechanisms controlling the development and organisation of the cerebral cortex and have provided a paradigm shift for our understanding of neurodevelopmental disorders such as epilepsy, autism and schizophrenia.
