Professor Olga Ciccarelli FMedSci
Olga Ciccarelli is NIHR Research Professor of Neurology at University College London. Her knowledge and expertise in multiple sclerosis and her ability to provide perspective and guidance to the clinical and research community is outstanding. She provided the evidence that led to change of the diagnostic criteria for MS, regularly used in clinical practice to achieve a more accurate and faster diagnosis.
She has worked with NICE in the development of guidelines for MS management, and actively contributed to international guidelines on use of MRI for the diagnosis and monitoring of MS. She is a patient advocate, campaigning for increasing the representation of non-White individuals in clinical trials and for the ‘Stop MS’ Campaign, as an MS Society ‘Ambassador’.
