Professor Muzlifah Haniffa FMedSci

Muzlifah Haniffa is a Wellcome Senior Clinical Fellow and one of a small cadre of Clinician scientists leading the global Human Cell Atlas initiative. She pioneered the application of single cell genomics to map the developing and adult human immune system in healthy and diseased tissues. Professor Haniffa has developed freely accessible data portals to disseminate her findings to the research community.|Her results provide a framework for understanding how specific immune niches support tissue functions, including skin barrier integrity and the fetal-maternal interface. She is an outstanding communicator of her research and is a committed mentor and role model for women and ethnic minorities in academic medicine.|
