Professor Krina Zondervan FMedSci
Krina Zondervan is Head of Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health at Oxford University. She is one of the world’s leading researchers in women’s health, focussed on common, under-recognised, conditions with substantial morbidity.
Her research has significantly advanced knowledge of the epidemiology and genetic causes underlying endometriosis, and phenotypic stratification. Her leadership of global standardisation for data and sample collection led to large-scale collaborative research programmes attracting major grant funding. She also leads the £5.4M Surgical-Innovation-Technology-Evaluation Theme within the NIHR Oxford Biomedical Research Centre and the media features of her work and outreach activities have significantly increased awareness of endometriosis and women’s health.
