Kate Storey is Chair of Neural Development at University of Dundee. She is internationally recognised for substantial contributions to understanding nervous system development. She discovered a novel negative feedback mechanism regulating Fibroblast Growth Factor signalling and the requirement for FGF for neural differentiation in embryos and embryonic stem cells. Her work on neural lineage commitment has broad implications for human disease and nervous system repair and regeneration. Professor Storey is a member of the MRC Neuroscience and Mental Health Board, and currently sits on the Wellcome Trust Expert Review Group for Cell and Developmental Biology and the SAB at Action for Medical Research.
