Professor K K Cheng FMedSci

Kar Keung Cheng, known as KK, is Professor of Public Health and Primary Care at the University of Birmingham. He excels in establishing large research platforms such as the Guangzhou Biobank Cohort Study, the largest of its kind in south China. He has been a major driving force behind primary care development in China and he leads the UK-China collaboration in primary care. He has also assembled one of the largest cohorts of bladder cancer patients, and initiated the largest ongoing trial on the use of the ‘polypill’ to reduce cardiovascular risk in Iran.
