Professor Sir Jonathan Montgomery FMedSci
Jonathan Montgomery is Professor of Health Care Law at University College London. He has made significant contributions to the study of health care law, bioethics, health regulation and the NHS improving the appreciation of medical science and its application in the public good.
He has redefined the ‘medical law and ethics’ paradigm as ‘health care law’. This is regarded as a significant theoretical framework and as offering ‘some of the most important and interesting legal analysis of medical law as a discipline'.
He has chaired three leading public bioethics bodies helping draft ethical guidelines, including research involving children, withdrawal of treatment from children, genetic testing of children, and the ethical aspects of planning for pandemics.
