Dr. John McCafferty FMedSci

John McCafferty is CTO and Founder of Maxion Therapeutics. He brings experience and knowledge from the commercial and pharmaceutical sectors having been a pioneer in the early years of biotechnology company startups and has decades of experience at the interface of academia and industry. Co-founding the company Cambridge Antibody Technology in the late 1980s, he was centrally involved in the successful development of this flagship UK biotechnology spinout company which led to the development of several medicines that are routinely used in the clinic. One of these, Humira, is one of the world’s best-selling drugs with annual sales exceeding $20 billion and has been administered to over half a million patients in the USA alone.
