James Bainbridge, Professor of Retinal Studies at UCL, is a highly accomplished clinician-scientist and leader in ophthalmology. He co-developed the first world gene therapy for inherited retinal degenerations, paving the way for an unprecedented expansion in the field globally. |He has led several pivotal randomised controlled trials to provide evidence for the more 'routine' surgical solutions for retinal disease where there was a previous evidence gap.|Professor Bainbridge co-founded a successful company resulting in large scale investment in the UK and delivery of an exciting portfolio of therapies for a range of inherited retinal degenerations.
