Professor Humphrey Hodgson FMedSci

Humphrey Hodgson is Professor of Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, University College London. He has made a sustained contribution to the medical sciences in the fields of gastroenterology and hepatology. At Hammersmith Hospital he pioneered the application of autologous leukocyte scanning to characterise the presence, site and extent of gut inflammation in the chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. More recently he has developed a major programme on liver cell biology and its potential applications to new therapy, including the first demonstration in humans of what is now named Hepatocyte Growth Factor.
