Harry Hemingway is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at UCL. He has made a standout contribution in catalysing the use of informatics and data science to exploit large-scale health record resources including the generation of new knowledge on the prevention, causes and treatment of cardiovascular disease. His leadership in establishing and growing the national institute of data science for health, Health Data Research UK, delivered a science vision supported by strong governance. |His research group exploits large-scale health records using methods at the interface of epidemiology, biomedical informatics and big data, and informs clinical practice guidelines and policy affecting the health of millions of people.
