Elected Fellow 2015
Professor of Endocrine Physiology at the University of Cambridge, Fiona Gribble has successfully taken on the highly demanding challenge of tackling the cellular physiology of gastrointestinal endocrine cells. These cell populations are now one of the primary targets for development of novel anti-diabetic and anti-obesity therapies and her expertise, tools and technologies are in great international demand. Her electrophysiologic studies of pain channels have made a major impact in pain research. Her many markers of esteem include the RD Lawrence lectureship and the Minkowski Prize (for best diabetes researcher under 45 in the UK and Europe respectively), and the Lister Prize.
