Professor Charles Pusey FMedSci
Emeritus Professor of Medicine
Imperial College London
Elected Fellow 2002
Professor Charles Pusey is Professor of Renal Medicine at Imperial College. He has made sustained original contributions to our understanding of crescentic glomerulonephritis. His clinical studies in Goodpasture’s disease have defined the role of treatment with plasma exchange and immunosuppressive drugs. He successfully pursued the identity of the Goodpasture antigen and produced the monoclonal antibody that led to the characterisation of the antigen as the alpha 3 chain of type four collagen.
