Bruce Guthrie is Professor of General Practice at the University of Edinburgh and is an internationally recognised authority on multimorbidity. He has worked with guideline development groups (in particular, NICE) to ensure rapid translation of multimorbidity research into improvements of clinical care.
His prescribing safety research spans the spectrum from basic epidemiology, through complex intervention development and evaluation, and working with the policymakers to implement change in practice. His commitment to inter-disciplinary research and innovation is exemplified by his leadership in creating the recently launched £20M Advanced Care Research Centre focusing on later life.
