Professor Brian Moore is Professor of Auditory Perception in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Cambridge. He is renowned for his work on mechanisms of hearing. He has made a series of outstanding contributions to our understanding of the basic functioning of the normal auditory system, including mechanisms of pitch perception, loudness perception and temporal processing. His work has had practical application in the design of new forms of automatic gain control for use in hearing aids, and new methods of fitting hearing aids to suit the individual.
