Aziz Sheikh is Professor of Primary Care Research & Development at the University of Edinburgh and is a global leader in primary care research, bringing the rigour of randomised trials into practice and exploiting the use of information technology, developing crucial Bayesian methodologies to assess the utility of IT solutions in clinical practice. He has led globally on the epidemiology and management of anaphylaxis, bringing allergy research into primary care and leading the development of UK, European and international guidelines. He also leads research on asthma management in General Practice and has led UK research into ethnic differences in health in primary care .
