Anthony Carr is Director of the Genome Damage and Stability Centre at the University of Sussex. He has an international reputation as a scientific leader in the DNA damage response field and has made numerous important contributions to our current understanding of DDR mechanisms, identifying many key DNA damage checkpoint proteins. Professor Carr’s contributions to the genome stability field have consistently impacted on studies directly relating to human health and have significant implications for our understanding of genomic rearrangements in cancer. He has been instrumental in establishing a world-leading institute researching into the mechanisms that maintain genome stability and its implication for human health and disease.
