Professor Antonis Antoniou FMedSci

Antonis Antoniou is Professor of Cancer Risk Prediction at the University of Cambridge and is a world-leading genetic epidemiologist who has made major contributions to the understanding of the genetics basis of common cancers, the development of multifactorial risk prediction models and the development of novel statistical methods. He leads the Cancer Data-Driven Detection national strategic programme, which leverages population-scale multimodal health and administrative data with advanced analytics, including AI, to improve personalised cancer risk prediction in both symptomatic and asymptomatic people. This major ongoing national initiative has a potential to substantially advance early detection and prevention of cancer.
