Professor Uta Frith is Professor of Cognitive Development at University College London and Deputy Director of the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience. She has made outstanding contributions to developmental psychology by applying paradigms from information processing theory to the study of normal and abnormal cognitive function in children. Her work has begun to reveal the brain basis of the typical social communication impairments in autism. She has made equally important contributions to our understanding of dyslexia.
