Til Wykes, Professor of Clinical Psychology and Rehabilitation at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Clinical Neuroscience, is one of Britain's most prominent clinical psychologists. Her work has concentrated on the difficult but highly important area of the psychological treatment and rehabilitation of people with psychotic illness. Her discovery of the links between cognition and recovery in people with schizophrenia led to her development of a novel intervention, cognitive remediation therapy. This therapy is used across the world, is the focus of further development in multinational studies and in applications for the NHS.
