Professor Rustam Salman FRSE FMedSci
Rustam Salman, Chair of Clinical Neurology at the University of Edinburgh, has one of the top ten international researcher profiles for stroke due to intracerebral haemorrhage. He has improved lives by making fundamental discoveries about diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of ICH and his findings are embedded in clinical guidelines and immediately applicable at the bedside. His work has been co-developed, designed and delivered with stroke survivors, and focuses on their priorities.
Professor Salman has strengthened research within and beyond his specific field by investigating and advocating for methodological rigour, efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
He has also worked globally by focussing on advances that are simple, affordable and deliverable worldwide, collaborating internationally, and transcending borders in his educational leadership.
