Professor Ravindra Gupta is Professor of Clinical Microbiology at the University of Cambridge. He has established himself as a world leader in virology, publishing a number of pivotal basic science and translational papers that have made a significant impact on our understanding of the biology and treatment of HIV/AIDS. He is a major figure in HIV in the UK and in Africa, where he conducts clinical and basic science whilst training future scientists in resource limited settings. His active involvement with the UK wide BRC collaboration on HIV Cure culminated in the case of cure in the ‘London Patient’ reported in 2019.
