Patricia Munroe is Professor of Molecular Medicine at Queen Mary’s, University of London. She is a world-leading genomics researcher with major discoveries identifying the causes of rare monogenic disorders. Her determination to succeed led her to co-found international Blood Pressure consortia where she made the initial break through discoveries of hundreds of loci influencing BP. Her leadership of electrocardiographic consortia has made seminal discoveries of hundreds of loci elucidating new biology that may explain disorders of rhythm. Professor Munroe’s discoveries are underpinning the development of biomarkers that may better predict cardiovascular risk.
