Nicholas Mills, Butler BHF Senior Clinical Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh, is an outstanding academic cardiologist. His research has improved our understanding of the mechanisms of vascular and myocardial injury in patients with coronary heart disease. His research has influenced national and international guidelines, and he has been the chief investigator, chair or a member of multiple clinical trial steering committees. His expertise in the use of routine electronic patient record data to undertake data-enabled clinical trials has led to his appointment as the Senior Responsible Officer and Lead for Data Driven Innovation in Health & Social Care for the region.
