John Strang is Professor of Addictions at King’s College London and is the nation’s leading academic in the field of clinical addictions. For the last two decades he has led the National Addiction Centre one of the most productive addictions research groups in Europe, leading major seminal trials which have changed policy and treatment. |He has served as special advisor to the Chief Medical Officer for five consecutive terms; chaired the DH Expert Committee on Drug Misuse and has served as Commissioner of the UK Drug Policy Commission. He also leads Addictions education in the UK, a challenge of great medical and social importance.
