Professor J F William Deakin FMedSci

Professor William Deakin is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manchester. The major theme of his research is to generate and test hypotheses about the normal behavioural functions of neurotransmitters and how they become disturbed in psychiatric disorders. One of his major contributions has been to develop and test a theory concerning the normal functions of serotonin and how disturbances come about in anxiety, depression and psychopathy.
