Professor Elaine Holmes FMedSci
Elaine Holmes’s is Professor of Chemical Biology at Imperial College London. Her research focuses on discovery and development of metabolic biomarkers of disease in personalised healthcare and population studies with significant contributions to cardiovascular, neuroscience and infectious disease research. She pioneered development and implementation of mathematical modelling methods to integrate genotypic and phenotypic data that has significantly improved mechanistic understanding of disease. The analytical framework she conceptualised has opened new research avenues and brought a new paradigm for modelling complex systems data and expertise in translating ‘omics’ technologies into practical tools for biomarker discovery and therapeutic monitoring for personalised healthcare and nutrition.
