Rosalind Eeles is Professor of Oncogenetics at the Insitute of Cancer Research. She is recognised for her leading contribution to the field of genetic susceptibility to prostate cancer. As well as establishing a UK effort in genetic predisposition to prostate cancer, Eeles is also a driver in International consortia on prostate cancer susceptibility. She established the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation Study to investigate the interaction of genetic and epidemiological factors. Her work has led to the discovery of no less than 14 genetic variants which predispose to prostate cancer development.
