Susan Hopkins is Chief Medical Advisor for the UK Health Security Agency and is an exemplar for clinical and public health leadership. Her outputs made a profound impact on interventions to reduce antibiotic prescribing in the UK and driven the implementation of the UK AMR Strategy and Five-Year plans. She has delivered effective public health messages through Number 10 press briefings and regular media interviews, translating complex ideas and principles in terms that members of the public can easily understand. She has also been an expert witness to the Science and Technology and Health Select Committees on AMR and COVID. She has expertise in clinical leadership, complex public health epidemiology and research spanning infectious diseases and across multiple disciplines.
