CNS stem and progenitor cells, their physiology and their roles in CNS regeneration
Robin Franklin is Professor of Stem Cell Medicine at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. He has made many outstanding contributions to myelin biology that have had important applications for clinical neurology, especially multiple sclerosis. He has been a pioneer in the biology of remyelination, an area in which he is widely acknowledged as the world’s leading expert. His extensive publications include many landmark studies for which he is recognized worldwide, and he receives many invitations for keynote and named lectures. His authoritative status in the regenerative medicine of demyelinating disease is demonstrated through membership of Wellcome Trust, MRC and UK MS Society Scientific Panels.
