Jonathan Knowles, Executive Chairman at Immunocore, has had a profound impact on biomedicine throughout his career. Through heading the Glaxo Institute for Molecular Biology in Geneva for six years and as President of Global Research at Hoffmann La Roche in Basel, Professor Knowles’ contributions to industry, particularly in creating opportunities for industry and academia to work together, have had a profound effect on biomedicine in the UK. His leadership in industry of the stratified medicine agenda has become a major component of thinking in modern biomedical science and he is now Executive Chairman of two of the fastest growing biotech companies in the UK.
