Professor Gavin Perkins MBE FMedSci

Gavin Perkins, Professor in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Warwick, is widely recognised as an international leader in Emergency care. His landmark trials on prehospital care have been credited with delivering a ‘substantial, beneficial change in healthcare’. The sudden and unexpected onset of illness and urgent need for life saving treatments in patients who often lack mental capacity, makes his programme of research uniquely challenging. Working across multi-professional boundaries, he has developed research capability and capacity within ambulance services. |His leadership of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation promotes better understanding of medical science accelerating improvements in practice worldwide.
