Gary Ford is Chief Executive Officer at Oxford Academic Health Science Network and until recently was Director of the Newcastle Clinical Research Facility and R&D Director. He has made major contributions to research in geriatric clinical pharmacology and the early diagnosis and management of stroke. His innovative work on the early diagnosis and treatment of stroke has had a substantial impact on stroke care internationally, notably the development of the FAST test for early recognition of stroke. Professor Ford has shown inspirational leadership to the clinical stroke community as Director of the NIHR Stroke Research Network.
