Dr Fiona Watt is Principal Scientist at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund Laboratories at Lincoln's Inn Fields and Head of the Keratinocyte Laboratory. She has made extremely important contributions to our understanding of the epidermis in health and disease. She identified the first molecular markers of human epidermal stem cells and has elucidated the factors that regulate the balance between proliferation and differentiation in normal and neoplastic keratinocytes. She has demonstrated a strong commitment to encouraging links between basic and clinical research.
