Eric Aboagye is Professor of Cancer Imaging and Director of the Cancer Imaging Centre at Imperial College London. He has been responsible for the discovery and validation of Molecular Imaging methodologies designed to help clinicians understand the biology of cancer in vivo. He trained as a pharmacist in Ghana before undertaking his PhD at the Beatson Institute in Glasgow where he developed non-invasive probes to assess tumour hypoxia using magnetic resonance spectroscopy. More recently he has developed the concept of microdosing in oncology. In 2001 he was the first recipient of the Translational Research Award from the British Association for Cancer Research.
