Professor Dian Donnai is Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Manchester. She has played a leading role in developing dysmorphology as a clinical and academic discipline. A major contribution was her deduction that Hypomelanosis of Ito may result from somatic mosaicism, sometimes of chromosomal origin.
