Professor of Behavioural Neuroscience at the University of Cambridge, Angela Roberts has made unique contributions to behavioural neuroscience. She was the first to discover different forms of cognitive flexibility within distinct regions of prefrontal cortex in monkeys and to demonstrate their differential sensitivity to the modulatory neurochemicals, dopamine and serotonin. These discoveries have been translated to preclinical and clinical studies in humans, and back-translated to models of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders in rodents. Her primate laboratory in translational neuroscience marks her as an internationally recognized expert; visited by academics from across the world.
